Studio v Location

studio v location, still up for debate with me and as im in the lucky position of having my own dedicated studio unlike alot of other photographers i can afford to be unbiased. so this is the experiment over the next few weeks, i am going to be finding the most unprommising locations and making images in them to test the theory ,the above images is taken in a doorway at the bottom of some stairs using available light from the doorway only, Emily my long suffering daughter who gets made to pose in all kinds of wierd places is sitting in the shoe collection there always is in the hallway and the post is behind her just out of shot. Unfortunately she draws the line at brushing her hair so i couldnt get her to do that as well which is a shame....but still this is what she looks like most of the time so its natural i suppose. Studio does allow precise controll of light and especailly with a modern white infinity coved studio like i have theres the option to use props and bright toys and things with the kids, backdrops and all the rest of it or keep it clean and simple producing stylish modern images , on the flip side locations, or clients homes, well theres the argument that people can feel more at ease in their own environment with all their stuff around the place . so i will be putting this to the test and seeing where i come out. so if anyone has seen some rusty guarage doors ,flakey painted doors or a coloured loading bay shutter or a bright painted building, building site or some serious grafiti around the place please let me know so i can go play.
