jan news and new project

not finished yet but this is a painting from a photograph .I like it so much i think i will keep it and put it up here, or maybe give it to tracey for her new extention if she likes it, not finished yet needs alot more work in the details but heres where im at right now

the manic rush to get all the orders out the door before Christmas is now passed and i have been very busy catching up with the paperwork which is still not done and doing the figures to see how much money i have helped to raise this year for my charities and schools,

the running total for Tolworth gym club is now over £3000 and i have delivered a healthy £1700 to Christchurch school for commissions on the sales of school photos

I had the pleasure of photographing the sultan of Brunei last week meeting the sultan and the whole royal party which includes their own television crew and staff photographers as well as security and ladies in waiting. they were all lovely and it was a pleasure and a privilege to be there

I also spent time at the graduation ceremony and was playing with shutter speeds in the weird dark and bright orange London barbican which is really weird building , even the floors are not straight

cant decide, colour or black n white , which do u prefer

also this january was the big society of wedding and portrait photographers conference 6000 shutterbugs in one hotel, interesting! but a chance to catch up with some friends and do a spot of networking.

The studio is filling up nicely with fun appointments over the next few weeks which is great for this time of year and the corporate diary is looking very healthy too, so all around bloody fantastic here at the moment, sorry i keep leaving big gaps between posts , still not got into the habit properly, will try harder this year, laters, luv k

Rainbow Trust Spirit of Cuba Ball , london,Hilton

the ball was amazing , loads of cool supporters of a great charity ,and lots of volunteers envolved realy well organized and beautifully set up ,and great entertainment & food all lead to lots of money raised to help provide support to terminally ill kids and their famillies, long night though, had to give up wearing shoes coz my feet were killing me. the guests included sarah green and mike smith , linford christie, angela hartnet , gill (jean from eastenders) , and venessa feltz and her lovely partner, Faith brown , and mark ramprakash (excuse spelling) were also in the house and a late appearance after finishing the live dance show at striclty come dancing was put in by Christina , Erin and Austin heeley who is a patron for the charity.

tolworth gym club fundraiser shoots

survived the shoots.... lots and lots and lots of great kids , all in a rush mid gym session and all over excited and bubbling with enthusiasm. There are 4 images per child going onto the proof cards which in itself is a mammoth task, the lab has specially designed one where the payment goes directly to the club for me so the total tallying will be easier for them this year , and my figures wont look so bonkers as they did last year when i suddenly gave a big wodge of wedge back as commission. I think it came out at 3760 pictures that's 940 of the kids and i know i didn't see them all as there were important competitions on so the class slots over the weekend i was there had been shuffled and the squads were out competing , that's a donation of over 7 days work time , processing ,now i just have to see how much we raise through the sales of the images.
I feel good and the karma must be realy good now.
hope we smash last years total

Rainbow Trust

volunteering services for charities,
first off the blocks...The Rainbow Trust.
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness ,I went to rainbow house in surrey met a lovely family who were staying there and all the carers and house staff who were very welcoming and spent the day with them making images for the rainbow trust for their brochures and web site and i plan to go back again and do some more when needed,

Next up,Fund raising , Tolworth Gymnastics Club last year i made £1700 for the club and this year i aim to beat that...... its a big job with continuous gymnasts coming through for portrait pictures over 6 days, theres over 900 kids at the club so its a real challenge to avoid it turning into a conveyor belt as you still have to try and make a connection with each child which is a tall order, but very good for the people/studio skills !! so i am expecting to need to go for several serious nights out next week to recover.
